| In this seminar and workshop the Urgent Pedagogies project and platform will be presented, followed by a presentation of the practice of Krater Collective.
With Magnus Ericson, Gaja Mežnarić Osole, and Danica Sretenović, introduction by Helen Hägglund, moderation by Åsa Ståhl.
As an institutional project Urgent Pedagogies is a space bringing together practitioners and researchers from a plurality of contexts, experiences, and backgrounds to share knowledge and experience about how socially engaged critical spatial practice may act through strategies and settings for learning, un-learning, and alternative forms of producing and sharing knowledge. Krater Collective initiated The Feral Palace urgent pedagogies in 2021, as a model on how to act in urgency, when faced with extractive urban developments. Here pedagogy acts as a model on how to act in urgency while opening ways of seeing and working with untamed urban grounds. Building on the counter-narrative of The Feral Palace – an act of producing knowledge otherwise absent from administrative and planning documents – The School of Feral Grounds investigates areas of interventions for cultural practices in the world in which capital-driven economies act as geological forces, terraforming the earth into a place where climate change, social inequality, and species extinction call for urgent collective action.
The event is organised by in collaboration between the Department of Design and the Cultural University at Linnæus University and IASPIS.
Open to everyone that is interested, teachers, students, other active at the university and public. The talk will be followed by an informal conversation and communal meal.
Please register by 22 January
